Adolescent Programme
Adolescent Health programme started from 2012, more than 25000 adolescents covered in various services and activities. Every year 3,500 to 5000 adolescents are tracked at regular intervals. Around 9000 girls ,7000 boys and their mothers have been made aware in Menstrual Hygiene in the MHM project in Narmada with the support of Unicef. In addition, 900 teachers, ASHA, Aanganwadi workers, 300 peer educators are trained for support. We also organize educational tours, exposure visits for adolescents and community camps at the village level to involve the community and parents.
AIM
To reduce anaemia, regulate menstrual hygiene management (MHM) reproductive health awareness, and reduce school dropouts and drug addiction in Jhagadia block.
METHOD
Awareness classes are conducted at schools, boarding schools and villages. Adolescents are screened and treated for health and non health issues. We have developed a mobile application that closely tracks health status and vulnerability of adolescents. Client-centred counselling is also provided. Awareness related to Reproductive health, menstrual hygiene, anemia, sickle cell ,STD,RTI, Early age marriage and pregnance etc done. IEC material resources are developed and disseminated. Teachers, ASHA, Aanganwadi workers, and 300 peer educators are trained and supported to improve the health conditions of adolescents at a large scale. We also organize educational tours, exposure visits for adolescents and community camps at the village level to involve the community and parents.
IMPACT
More than 4,000 adolescents are empowered every year through adolescent empowerment programs.
